Before I begin to tell you what I do as a Health Coach let me tell you why I became one. I have always wanted to help others, but never really knew how. I have been a hairdresser for thirty years and have had several small businesses in the town I live over the past 25 years. My salon was a part of this for 11 years. I loved being a small business owner and salon owner, but I wanted to do more. After my divorce, I decided I would return to school and after exploring different options I decided that health coaching was the perfect fit for me.

After a friend of mine mentioned health coaching to me several years ago, it was the first time I heard about it. I researched it and found the Institute of Integrated Nutrition out of Manhattan NY, where I registered to become a Health coach, and got an additional certification in gut health. My personal experiences with food sensitivity and controlling my symptoms to the point where I can live my life to the fullest again, along with my education has given me the ability to help others walking in the same shoes I used to.   

Helping others not just on the outside but truly from the inside out has finally become a reality for me.  My journey has brought me an amazing opportunity to pay it forward.

To answer the question, I have been asked over and over by People, “what do you do as a health coach?” “What is a health coach?”

Let me start by saying that I am a health coach focusing on helping women suffering from Food sensitivity that are accompanied by GI issues such as nausea, diarrhea, bloating, gas, constipation…My program focuses on the Mind Body Nutrition approach that will help and guide my clients towards gaining control over their food sensitivity and eventually be able to live symptom-free. Live their life to the fullest again. Confusions about how to eat and what to eat will disappear. Vacations and outings won’t be a problem anymore. Feeling sexy and attractive again will come naturally.  My custom program is flexible enough to be adjusted to each individual clients’ needs and goals, as we are all different.

We will have weekly 45-minute virtual coaching session from the comfort of the client’s home with continued support in between sessions through text or email.  Getting clear on the client’s goals to create a clear but flexible path accompanied by my program to reach the designated goal. We will work together in finding added support such as reiki masters, functional medicine doctors, massage therapists, personal trainers, yoga studios in the client’s area if needed. Virtual Grocery store tours, farmers market tours, and pantry makeovers are part of nutritional education during our time together, amongst many other great subjects.  Virtual Cooking classes are an optional add-on service. Handouts such as lists of books to read, recipes and tips and tricks for day to day life come along.

Even though focusing on Food sensitivity is my specialty, I also help clients lose weight, adjust towards a healthier lifestyle and help them achieve their goals based on nutrition. As you see it is quite universal. As the basic idea of a health coach is to be a mentor/coach in helping the client get through the tough parts of getting their life to where they want it to be. It’s hard to go through difficult changes such as these by yourself and it’s even harder to know how, what to do, stay on track and actually see yourself get to the finish line. A health coach is a support system that shows you the way, that will give you the proper education and guidance to achieve your health and wellness-based goals.

Having a health coach by your side gives you the support system that will guarantee you to get to where you want to be in life, as you don’t have to do this alone.
